Biography
I was born in Jackson, Alabama, a small town just north of the Bay. Born into a single parent household where my mother took care of me and my brother.My mother still reside in Alabama and my father,whose last name is Gillespie, is located in Cheraw,South Carolina. Family of the late great Dizzy Gillespie. I reside in Atlanta, Ga with my beautiful daughter. I started writing at the age 15. Poetry wasn't my first. Instead it was songs. In 1998 I wrote my first novel and within that same year I wrote a stage play. In 1999 I became really motivated and wrote a moviescript that was reviewed by a known actor in the industry that wanted to start directing films. In 2001 I started working for this record label where I wrote songs, scheduled shows and did radio appearances with the artist. I later left that atmosphere and concentrated more on my ideas and my writing. My first book that will be released in early July is a collection of poetry. Floetic Whispers. Later September I have a childrens book that will be in the hands of many and early 2010 my novel. My writings are straight to the point. I try to avoid metaphors. People who have inspired me are writers like Nikki Giovanni and Gwendolyn Brooks. I love to read books by local authors and they also motivate me because its nice to know there are other people in your area who are doing the same that you are other than music.
